BODIES IN THE BASEMENT

Everybody listen. hey you! Stop giggling I'm serious! There's going to be an art show of the Pre-Monstrealist Brotherhood next Saturday (May 2) in the basement of the Visual Arts building. The drawings have been creatively made "Safe For School" but we will be handing out programs showing the before and after shots to anyone who is younger than the age of an authority figure. There will be balloons, monsters, industrial metal, food, and music. Leatherjuice will be playing along with some other openers. The show starts at 10pm. No doubt you'll hear more about this show soon enough.

2009 PHOTO ISSUE

This is our first attempt at a photo issue. I loved bringing this together. Usually getting stories together and scraping content from the bottom of the barrel is extremely nerve racking but this time it was easy. Flip through and you'll find a bunch of photos covering a bunch of different things. There are artist spotlights on Kym Day and Taylor Wirthlin. Check out some snapshots from a Southern St. Patricks Day, The Black Lips, and all night skate sessions. I gotta give respect to Ade Gee for putting out a great Cool Micer ad in the back and all the SC Governor's School kids. I think that this is by far one of our favorite issues. Not only because it was a smooth ride to put together, but it's like a handjob for your eyes.

THIRD HAND SMOKE ONLINE

In an effort to build upon the foundations laid, the decision to go online was made. This zine was created in order to remember stories told and to share those stories. But memory is such a bad thing and no one ever gets it right. So we add exageration, imply certain things, and sometimes downright lie. But the truth is never as interesting as the half-truths we create for ourselves. This blog will just be an online version of this shitty mag rag. Most people will use e-mail if they want a copy, some may just use their voice.
